Ski & Snowboard Edge Rust Removal £9.99

Got a little rust around your edges?

Those small orange or brown patches on your ski or snowboard edges might not look like much, but they're worth paying attention to.

Where to Look;

  • Skiers; you can find rust sometimes where you keep your ski clips, so take off your clips and have a look.
  • Snowboarders; rust sometimes appear at the top ( nose ) and bottom ( tail ).

Steel edges can develop surface rust when exposed to moisture, particularly after riding, travelling or being stored somewhere damp. Ask about our Full Monty Service.

At Snowboard Guru, we offer a small-area edge rust removal treatment for just £9.99 as an additional service to help keep your equipment in better condition.

A little workshop care can go a long way To keep your kit riding for longer.

What does our edge rust removal service include?

Our technicians will inspect the affected areas and carefully treat small patches of surface rust on your ski or snowboard edges.

  • Remove small areas of visible surface rust.

  • Our Gurus will use a gummie stone to remove the rust.

  • Maintain a smoother, cleaner edge surface.

We take care to work on the affected areas without unnecessarily removing edge material.

Why does rust appear on ski and snowboard edges?

Your ski and snowboard edges are made from steel, which can react with moisture and develop rust.

Common causes include:

  • Putting wet equipment away after a day on the mountain. Guru Tip; use a small towel to dry.
  • Leaving skis or snowboards in damp bags.
  • Storing equipment in humid conditions eg loft, garage and shed.
  • Putting equipment away for the summer without drying and protecting it properly. Ask the Guru for tips.

The good news is that small patches of surface rust can often be treated before they develop into a more significant problem.

Is rust removal included in a standard service?

Small-area rust removal is available as an additional workshop treatment for £9.99.

  • If your equipment needs a more extensive edge service, sharpening or repair, we'll assess it and explain the options before carrying out any additional work.
  • Please note: this treatment is for small areas of surface rust. Deep corrosion, pitting, damaged or lifting edges may require more extensive work and a separate assessment.
